 New Psychiatrist Joins MeadowWood and Psychiatric SolutionsNEW CASTLE, Del. – (July 1, 2010) – MeadowWood Behavioral Health, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, is pleased to announce that Dr. Sylvia Foster has joined the staff as a psychiatrist. “Dr. Foster brings a wealth of experience to our team,” said Bill Mason, chief executive officer of MeadowWood Behavioral Health. “Dr. Foster shares the same belief as everyone who works at MeadowWood. Our goal is to provide treatment in a compassionate and caring environment and she is the kind of person who is committed to helping patients improve their quality of life.” Most recently, Foster served as the director of Satellite Geropsychiatry Services at the Girard Medical Center in Philadelphia. Prior to that, she was the medical director and chief forensic psychiatrist for the Jane E. Mitchell Forensic Unit at the Delaware Psychiatric Center in New Castle. She also served in various roles at the Girard Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, all in Philadelphia. Foster graduated from and interned at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She also completed her residency and fellowship there. In addition to her practice, she is also a respected professor, lecturer and researcher in general psychiatry. Foster received her board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is also certified in geriatric and addiction psychiatry.
